They’re really stretching out the “work together” line on Raw aren’t they? With Stephanie and Shane saying once again if there is no unity there will be action taken and taken soon. Will this lead to a new General Manager soon??? So how does Raw start you ask? They join Jericho and Michaels in a fight with Cade interfering in it as well. By the way, this week I will not be giving a complete rundown of what happened on the show, instead I will just comment on the show and some of its matches results and if they worked this week or not. So in my remarks if you have no idea what they mean, I apologize, you should have watched the show, or at least taped the darn thing. First off I watched the Kobi (yes I know it’s Kofi) vs. Burchill match. Kingston was given a fairly decent man to wrestle this week and it was a better then average match to watch. Both men are being given more time on the air and seem to be running with the opportunity. Is this feud going to last long or is it an experiment to see how well Kingston does with Burchill? Paul was cleanly pinned in the middle of the ring, so I have to believe that the writers still have no clue whom to pit Kingston against. “Did you try the Pepsi machine?” If you watched the show, you know who said this and who it was for and what it was about. Classic line I have to say. I liked the idea of Santino going against Beth Phoenix...it was too short, but entertaining to say the least. I am surprised I liked a match with a woman in it-but with having Santino in it helped immensely. Like it or not (and this is just my opinion), Santino is one entertaining son of a bi***. It’s good that he is a heel because when he was a face, it just didn’t work that well. He has found his niche. They should have more inter gender matches, why not? It couldn’t hurt and if given the right wrestlers to go against one another it could be good for the federation. They did it when Chyna was around, why not start it up again? By the way, does this mean that Beth Phoenix is a face now that she beat Santino? Guess we will have to see. Thank you Ted Dibiase Jr. and Cody Rhodes, I didn’t want to see Kelly Kelly wrestle anyways. Being heels they are getting better and better each week. As far as being extreme heels, insulting Jim Duggan about how old he was and how worthless he was, was an extremely nice touch indeed. Kane has a new found intensity since going heel and this thing about “is he dead or is he alive” is interesting. I am betting it is him battling the “demon” that is the original Kane (when he wore that red mask), it’s too bad the match between him and Punk ended in a countout. But in order for him to go bonkers after the match, it was the only way to do it. Punk should thank his lucky stars that Batista came out and saved him from Kane. But then the slap by Punk to Batista and the power slam from Batista didn’t really help much in their “friendship.” Jericho going against the jabroni Paul London slowed down the pace they had going in the show, too bad to because I was going to give some better then average props to the programming up til that point for the night. You could see it coming a million miles away that London was not going to win this match. David vs. Goliath in a match between Jamie Noble and Snitsky...you could hear the boring chants in the crowd and when you wrestle Snitsky it will happen no matter what. He may be big but his wrestling abilities are something to be desired. It appears as if they are using Jamie as a “walk over me” wrestler week in and week out. In my opinion Vince just doesn’t like too many little guys and the way he shows it is by jobbing them out to the “Snits.” The Gillette Fusion Power commercial with Cena and McMahon was more entertaining then some of the past Raw shows they’ve put on…I’m just saying... They left more then enough time for a six-man tag match to take place and it was above par I suppose. For me I am tired of seeing Cena and JBL going at it with one another. Will GAB be the end to this thing or not? And is it me or is JBL getting flabbier as the weeks go on? Anyways, having Cryme Tyme and Dibiase/Rhodes in the match just might be a precursor to some good tag team matches down the line--we can only hope. Dibiase/Rhodes showed that they can put on a good match and have used many things that their fathers did when they wrestled. The new age of wrestlers is coming and their names are Dibiase and Rhodes. If you didn’t notice it and I know I did, most of the cheers for Cena were from the kids, ya gotta admit, they love the guy. Speaking of that, the end of the night had Cena and JBL leave the ring and head out in the parking lot with JBL knocking Cena out and leaning him against a car…then JBL hopped into another car and smashed into the car Cena was leaning against. They left it as a cliffhanger with us not knowing what exactly happened to Cena...By the way there was no definitive winner in the match either, if you wanted to know. The show had it’s ups and downs and was what it was, a show just before their next pay per view, it was better then some; I suppose. I don’t know if that is saying much though. But if the WWE keeps showing us the new guys and giving them good match ups, it could turn the tide for Raw for the better. I for one am happy not to have to see HHH anymore on the show. The “youngsters” may just have a chance this summer on the flagship that is called Raw. That’s my 3 cents worth, til next time...
